Gem of a Country : Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka proverbially acquired a maxim as the pearl of the Indian Ocean – may be as there are many a pearl around the island anytime to be called and picked. Then, the ‘grainery of the east’ this is a befitting testimony to our olden day farmers for their adroit competence in their capacity to work – now, to say recently we have become the owner of the heaviest, costliest, invaluable and priceless gem – the ‘Gem of the world’ beating all Guinness records. The highest peak’s elevation is around 8000 feet above sea level. From the low levels to the high levels, the mounds and molds, hammocks and hillocks, hinterlands and highlands and hills, cliffs and bluffs – all in all are luxuriously cultivated with tea – the products enterprisingly acquire the name and position, name and fame as the ‘best’ in the world.
